Dr Irene Wei

Irene graduated from the University of New South Wales with the University Medal and an award for excellence across the entire five-year Bachelor of Vision Science/Master of Clinical Optometry degree. She has experience working in both private practice and public eye care settings, with a strong focus on ocular disease diagnosis and management.

During her time working at the UNSW Centre for Eye Health and at Horizon Eye Specialists, Irene has gained extensive experience in the collaborative management of complex eye diseases. She has a particular interest in the early detection and management of macular, retinal and optic nerve conditions, and is passionate about integrating advanced imaging and evidence-based care to improve long-term patient outcomes.

Irene is committed to providing thorough, patient-centred care and values taking the time to ensure patients understand their eye health and management options. Outside of work, Irene enjoys horse riding. Irene is fluent in Mandarin.
